One of my favorite tools I always use when starting on a new project is the RACI Matrix. It’s quite obvious to define the stakeholders roles and responsibilities when you join a new organization, because it helps to understand the tasks of the involved people. But even if you work in the same small company since years, it is key to make responsibilities obvious – and share it with the stakeholders.
I’ve never experienced that creating a RACI Matrix is not accompanied by discussions about who is doing what and why – so by the act of creating the matrix, your whole team will get a shared understanding of the contributions expected.
